1. Faculty Training

University of Utah, 2002-2008

Kim started working in faculty development at the University of Utah in 2002. While there, she implemented a Higher Education Teaching Specialist designation to be noted on transcripts for graduate teaching assistants who followed a rigorous teacher training program. Early career faculty also joined the program.

Chapman University, 2014-2018, 2019-2020

At Chapman University, in Orange, CA, Kim worked as a Blackboard Administrator, an Instructional Designer, and a consultant to help with the transition from Blackboard to Canvas. During this time, she trained hundreds of faculty on the best use of their learning management systems.

Here is an example of Kim describing how she uses videos and quizzes to support asynchronous instruction at her institution.

Here is an example of an invited in-person, 5-minute lightning talk to speak to the faculty at her institution about the differences between Panopto and Zoom:

And here is an example of her online training presentation as she introduced faculty who were new to remote instruction to the art of engaging  remote students.
